Be kind to yourself

Greetings and welcome to my site.

I sincerely believe that yoga is for everyone.

True yoga meets you wherever you are in your life and whatever your level of flexibility.

Yoga is not about being bendy or able to touch your toes. Yoga is philosophy and a state of mind. It is a practice of awareness and kindness towards yourself and others. The purpose of yoga is to calm the mind in order to connect with your heart.

For me yoga is about getting spaciousness in my body and flexibility in my mind, and about slowing down, reflecting. This way I get to know myself better, having more awareness what I feel and where I feel it, evaluating whether it is helpful or unhelpful and having learnt these skills in my practice I will take them off the mat into my daily life.

I don't practice yoga to become better at yoga, but to get better at living.

In yoga we are not trying to get anywhere or become anything, you are perfect as you are, the physical benefit of yoga, strength and flexibility are mere side effect of something more profound that is going on.

Hatha yoga is a powerful tool for self transformation. Originally It was a system designed to purify the body in order to achieve illumination.

Its main purpose was to create a complete balance between body, mind and spirit and between the opposing forces of duality, ha meaning the sun and tha the moon.

Nowadays Hatha yoga class typically consist of asana (postures) practice, but also may include breathing techniques, visualisation, meditation and mudras (hand gestures).

Maitri means loving kindness in Sanskrit. I would like to share it with you.

"Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self."

The Bhagavad Gita
